Pulled up and was helped out by the nicest state park ranger ever. Gave us great directions to the Spring & Summit trails, but we were too late in the day to make it to the lake. Everything was beautiful; will definitely be back in the spring for a camping trip!
It's a nice park but the best part are it's campsites. the cabins are especially nice. They have all been very clean everytime I have went
One of the dark sky areas in NJ, although it's not comparable to the best dark sky sites. The milky way is fairly visible
We were told that this park is one of the most peaceful places in NJ. So true! We stayed in the cabin/shelter for the weekend and hiked several of the trails. The shelter was very well maintained and the bathrooms were clean. I am a novice camper and this was a great way to ease into "roughing it." The trails were beautiful and the scenery was unforgettable. PS: the observatory was awesome. The astronomers were very friendly and showed us some amazing stars. They explained everything we were looking at and shared their love of the night sky with us.
